THE LAUREL

A sense of drama and irresistible comfort transformed often-overlooked common areas into usable and visually stunning spaces that attract residents.

What was a flyover space became a place for entertaining guests and where neighbors can become friends.

The Laurel was looking to update their tired common area spaces. Although the building had the benefit of great flow, its finishes and furnishings were woefully outdated.

Oak railings were removed to make way for a custom iron rail that slowly spirals up to the balcony. Management wanted each space to feel less institutional, more inviting and give the residents an attractive and usable space to entertain guests or enjoy coffee with a neighbor…or perhaps a mean game of Mahjong! Marceau opted for furnishings that felt updated but ageless, with a brighter palette and durable fabrics to encourage and withstand use.

Our job is to act as a divining rod for the soul of a space and to release what exists in your mind’s eye.
